(Got the poster also from their website)

Rules and Regulations:

1. Who are eligible to join?
- All bonafide members of Nikon Club Philippines, its officers, committee heads and members, as well as the Board of Directors are allowed to join this contest.

2. What are the themes for each month?
- There will be a theme for each month. Since we are affiliated with FPPF, the theme for each month is aligned to the monthly themes of FPPF's Photoworld Cup 2011.

3. How can one submit his/her entries for this contest?
- A member can submit a maximum of three (3) entries every month. Entries must be emailed to photocontest@nikonclubph.orgThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and to be cc'ed to, arnelcorpuz@gmail.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for back up purposes or difficulty in sending. Kindly put POTM on the subject (e.g. POTM 0211 Arnel Corpuz). Strictly no watermarks and borders on your images.

4. What is the image size/format of the entries that will be submitted?
- Images to be submitted to the Photo Contest Committee must be in .JPG format. Image size must be at least 12" on the long edge and not less than 8" on the short edge, 300 dots per inches (dpi) or pixel per inch (ppi), as we had encountered some technical quality issues in printing the entries in 8" x 12" (12" x 8") format for the club's delegation to Photoworld Cup. The entry should be taken using any model of a NIKON CAMERA only, whether its a point and shoot (Coolpix), film SLR, or a DSLR.

5. Image editing and treatment
- For this year, we will not limit ourselves to global editing only. We shall now allow the use of other post processing methods. Processing techniques such as HDR, effects (Dave Hill, Rarinda Prakarsa, etc.), textures, composites, color isolation, and the like will not be allowed. However, if the current theme stated that image editing shall only be limited to global editing, we shall follow the theme's rule for image editing.

6. I am a member of another club aside from NCP, can I still join the POTY race?
- Yes. However, if the entry/entries of that member has been chosen to be part of NCP's delegation of Photoworld Cup, it shall be treated as CLUB ENTRY, out of respect to his/her other club. It means if that entry/s will be on the top 30 or in top 10 of the monthly Photoworld Cup, points that will be earned shall be under the club and not on the photographer. Internally, we will acknowledge the photographer's name and he will earn points for the sake of the POTY race, and is part of the POTY competition.

7. How many points can one get in joining the POTY race?
- Upon submitting (may it be for POTM, Special Projects and the like or stated), a member will be awarded one (1) point for recognizing his/her participation. If ever his/her entry/entries will fall on the top ten of the contest, he/she will earn additional points. Here are as follows:

1st Place - 9 points
2nd Place - 6 points
3rd Place - 3 points
4th-10th place - 1 point

All points will be tabulated by the Photo Contest Committee. The member with the most number of points accumulated from February to December shall be the winner of POTY race 2011.

The top 10 entries will be part of the club's participation at the Photoworld Cup 2011.

8. How are the images being judged?
- Images are judged on the following:

Technical image quality - sharpness, exposure, and lighting
Composition
Impact, drama
Degree of difficulty
Adherence to the month's contest topic description

9. Stock Photos
- For this year, we will allow the use of stock photos for submission. However, the age of photo will be limited to ONE YEAR ONLY. In lieu with this, all entries that will be submitted must have its EXIF readable by Opanda IEXIF software. To download Opanda IEXIF Software, please visit http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/download.htm. If ever the software cannot read the EXIF, please do submit to me the ORIGINAL FILE of the said image. I'll shall notify the sender which of his/her entry/entries does not have EXIF.

10. Use of image
- Members entering a contest, including those with winning digital images, agree to allow Nikon Club Philippines to retain and use the images in the newsletter and on the web page or for other club-sponsored activities. Nikon Club Philippines agrees, in return, to not abuse the use of the image. Nikon Club Philippines will not market the image in any form, and will use it in promotional literature only with the advance consent of the photographer owning the image.

11. Contesting results
- If a member wishes to question the results of a contest, they must submit their complaint in writing to the Photo Contest Chairman or any club officer.

The complaint must include: complainant's name, questionable image, nature of complaint (indicating rule broken), proof behind complaint.
The Board of Directors will review the complaint, and if they find merit, they may disqualify the image.

Should you have any questions regarding the rules and regulations for this year's POTY race, you may post it in this thread and the Committee will answer it to the best that it can.
